Kristen Bunich

MA RD LDN

Hi there, I’m Kristen Bunich, a registered dietitian located in Charlotte, NC.

I help people become in tune with their body’s natural hunger, fullness and weight.

This is so beneficial to all types of people but especially people who are frustrated with the roller coaster of dieting and desire a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle.

Intuitive eating…

• Is founded on the premise of body acceptance

• Eliminates body and food shaming

• Is meant for all bodies

I come from a science background with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nutrition. I am a registered and licensed dietitian with an emphasis on exercise physiology. I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.

I have been trained and I practice evidenced-based nutrition. Science meets therapy!

I understand the medical aspects of nutrition

Yet have the empathy to walk you through all of the feelings that eating can carry.

The majority of my career has been focused in critical care nutrition. As a science nerd, I find it is fascinating to see the role that nutrition plays during trauma. Over the years, I have developed such an appreciation for intuitive eating and meditation.

Intuitive eating is based on peer-reviewed studies that support its use. My future to practice this area of nutrition was sealed after reading the research demonstrating that breaking the cycle of restriction and binge was not only mentally healthy for clients but could improve their health. We don’t just remove a negative aspect, we improve.

My passion is to share these practices to sustain a more balanced life for others. In my practice I use validated tools, my years of clinical experience and education to apply the principles of intuitive eating.

It is a perfect marriage of my belief in science and the benefit of being in tune with one’s body.

Diets have a glamorous appeal. It is easy to get caught up in the ‘easy fix’ of the next fad diet or the before and after photos from a friend who instantly slimmed down.

Studies show that these aren’t sustainable and cause more damage not just to your metabolism but to your mental health.

Instead of focusing on the external we are going to start on the inside.

find peace with your relationship in food

and love your body

Kristen and I worked together for many years co-managing critically ill patients in the ICU. She is a great communicator, has an incredible depth and range of medical knowledge, and takes wonderful care of her patients. I highly recommend her nutrition counseling services and look forward to referring my patients, friends and family!
